Saving our ocean must remain a priority. Marine biodiversity is critical to the health of people and our planet. Marine protected areas need to be effectively managed and well-resourced and regulations need to be put in place to reduce overfishing, marine pollution and ocean acidification. Learn more at un.org.
What We’re Doing
Ways to Get Involved
- Follow “Leave No Trace” principles in outdoor areas on campus
- Properly dispose any excess or unused medication in Health Services
- Join student organizations such as: GreenFee, NYPIRG, UNICEF and others
- Attend Sustainability Advisory and Outreach Committee meetings

- Purchase offers classes related to water conservation and ecosystems. Check out courses in Liberal Studies and Environmental Studies to learn more*

What Else We’re Doing
- To reduce pollution in our waterways, the Office of Residential and Student Life has started handing out reusable bags at Orientation in lieu of plastic or single use bags
