Search Timeline
The goal of the Presidential Search Committee is to have a new Purchase College President appointed and in place when our current President, Milly Peña, retires in June 2025. In order for that to happen, the following events will need to be accomplished on the approximate timetable set forth below.
The schedule below is a “best estimate” of timing as of the date of the last update (noted below schedule). Dates will undoubtedly change as circumstances require, but the committee will work hard to ensure that the Purchase College Presidential Search process goes as smoothly as possible and, most importantly, results in the recruitment of candidates who will serve as Purchase College President with great distinction.

| Mid-November through early February | Search Firm solicits interest from potential Presidential candidates, including advertising for the position, receiving expressions of interest from and screening of candidates. | Through mid-February | Search Committee reviews candidate resumes and Search Firm input, identifies candidates of interest, and reduces the search to those candidates the Committee wishes to interview. | ||
| Mid-February | Search Committee conducts meetings to interview all candidates it has identified as being of interest to the Committee and who, in turn, express interest in being interviewed by the Search Committee for the Presidential position. | ||
| Late February | Search Committee meets to consider the candidacies of those it has interviewed and selects from that group a short list of candidates to be invited to campus to meet with representative campus constituencies. | ||

| Late March | Search Committee meets and finalizes a list of all candidates found acceptable to the Committee. The names of the candidates selected are forwarded to the College Council. | ||
