Counseling and Behavioral Health Services

  • provides students a range of free and confidential services for personal issues including stress, mental health difficulties, substance use concerns, sexual assault and abuse, and related needs—call or walk in for an appointment Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm.
  • offers crisis response during the fall and spring semesters—after hours the Counselor on Call may be contacted via our answering service
  • offers Campus Advocacy Services (CAS) for students seeking a confidential first response to interpersonal violence, including sexual assault, sexual harassment, stalking and partner violence.
  • manages the Harbor Center for Health Promotion (see below)

  • coordinates academic, housing, and dietary accommodations and auxiliary aids and services for students with disabilities to ensure equal access to all programs, services, and activities at Purchase College
  • oversees Cornerstone Connect, a fee-based comprehensive service offered to college-ready, self-motivated students seeking support in executive functioning growth and social skill building
  • coordinates with the Testing Center (see below) which administers exams for students with documented disabilities and approved testing accommodations

  • the Health Promotion Coordinator (sara.herskowitz@purchase.edu) offers the Health Promotion Internship: paid interns receive peer education training and perform a variety of functions including leading their own interest/activity groups—interns work with CBHS staff to provide afterhours stress reduction and well-being activities at the Harbor Center
