Faculty Resources
Help Students Develop a Sense of Belonging and Community
We highly value faculty efforts to support the growth of students through experiences that expand viewpoints and build community. Students who feel as if they belong tend to adjust quicker and persist to graduation.
Faculty in Residence Fellowship
Play a unique role in fostering students’ intellectual curiosity, active discussion, and critical thinking, while helping them feel engaged and part of the community.
Faculty in Residence Fellowships support a shared first-year experience for Liberal Arts and Sciences students in BA and BS degree programs. Fellows teach a Learning Community Seminar around a topic of their choice for first-year LAS students.
Faculty Student Engagement Grants
Expanding learning to experiences outside the classroom encourages students, particularly underclassmen, to engage with their peers and faculty in new ways and helps develop a sense of community.
The Student Success Committee offers funding for extracurricular and interdisciplinary events through the Student Engagement Grant and a Bus Transportation Grant.
