Voting Registration
A cornerstone of the Purchase College mission is to challenge members of our community to “Think Wide Open.” Our institution recognizes civic engagement and voter education as an essential component of that mission and as an important part of engaging students in the democratic process.
The information outlined below serves as a concise guide to support our students as they navigate the voter registration process. We want all members of the Purchase College community to feel that there is institutional support, awareness, and supplemental resources for those engaging in the most crucial aspect of any democracy: the right to vote.
Voter Registration
The first step to voter participation is registering to vote. As a resident on campus, you are able to register to vote in this district. As an added perk, we have a polling place right on campus. To register to vote, please visit the application for voter registration. The application is also available in Spanish.
Please be sure to be mindful of the New York State registration deadlines to be able to vote. Not sure if you are registered to vote in New York State? You can visit the NY State Board of Elections website to find out.
Absentee Ballots
As mentioned before, it is important to take part in voting and sharing your voice. We know that life may get in the way sometimes, but that is ok. If circumstances prevent you from voting on Election Day, you can fill out and submit an absentee ballot. In order to obtain an absentee ballot, you must first submit an Absentee Ballot Application. The absentee ballot application is also available in Spanish.
Once you submit the absentee ballot application, the absentee ballot will be mailed to the address you provide on the application.
