First-Year Students
Woo-hoo, you’re coming to Purchase. Congratulations!
College is a new beginning, and we realize it can be a little intimidating. But through a summer-long Orientation program, we’ll provide you with many resources and services to assist your transition to college life.
The various components of our complete orientation program will help you:
- Meet other incoming students and get to know your peers;
- Begin your adjustment to campus life;
- Connect with current undergraduate students who will answer questions about all things Purchase;
- Learn about our unique campus and all the resources it offers you;
- Meet faculty and staff who you can rely on during your time at Purchase.
Summer 2025 Orientation Program
Throughout the summer, we’ll provide you with the resources you’ll need as you transition to college life. Some things are mandatory, others optional, so please pay attention to the information below.
Submit Your ID Photo
Picture this: submitting your ID card photo before you even come to campus so that you have the first photo you actually like on an ID.
For new students coming to our college, you can use the GET Mobile app or the GET website to submit your own photo.
July 2025 Orientation Sessions
- Tuesday, July 15
- Wednesday, July 16
- Thursday, July 17
Registration opens in early June. Check back for registration information. New students must participate in one of the three in-person sessions above.
Pre-assigned and staggered check-in times begin at 8:00am (ET), and all activities conclude by 4:00pm. Sessions are open to all students.
Students may bring two guests only—parents, guardians, or others from your support system. You are not required to bring a guest.
Parents and Guests must also register. Check back for details.
Parent and Guest Orientation Sessions
Each Orientation Session has a separate program for parents and guests.
EOP Students
All new EOP students will be assigned to a selected Orientation Session, which is part of their summer program. If you are a student in the EOP program, please review your email for your additional summer program requirements.
ACE Students
All new ACE students will be assigned to a selected Orientation Session, which is part of their summer program. Please register accordingly.

Academic Sessions I
June 26–28, Times Vary
Optional but highly recommended.
Faculty and staff in your academic area explain what it means to be a student within each program and answer all of your questions.
Conservatory program faculty will provide specifics about needs and expectations for the fall.
Sessions are repeated in August. If you’re unable to attend in June, plan to attend then. No registration is required.

Phase T.W.O. Orientation: Thursday, August 21, 2025
T.W.O. stands for both the number and Think Wide Open.
You’ll arrive on campus a few days before returning students to continue the orientation begun in July with seminars, workshops, and educational and social programming led by faculty, staff, and peers.
Attendance is mandatory for some, but not all, of the programs offered. A full schedule will be released in late July.
No special registration is required.
