For Graduate Students
The Purchase College Career Development Center has a variety of services and programs designed to assist students throughout their graduate school experience at Purchase.
Career Counseling/Coaching
Career Counselors/Coaches meet with graduate students to determine career goals and offer strategies for planning. They work together to assess interests, career competencies and skills, and job-related values, set career goals, prepare a targeted resume or CV and cover letter, and develop job search strategies. Stop by during our walk-in hours for a brief meeting with a counselor or make a full appointment.
Career Preparation Tools
Graduate students have access to our on-line tools and resources including researching careers on CandidCareer. We also offer standardized assessments that can further support your career planning and decision making.
Searching for Opportunities
The Career Center can assist graduate students with searching for short-term, part-time, freelance, internship and full time opportunities. A place to start is on Purchase JobScore, our job and internship platform where employers post for Purchase students and alumni.
Events and Employer Visits
Our events are open to all students and alumni and include career panels, mini-fairs, guest speakers, employer visits and our annual Job & Internship Fair. Check out our events page to see what is coming up and follow us on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter to stay up-to-date on our programs and events.
Academic Internships
As a Purchase student enrolled in a graduate program, you have access to our applied learning resources and opportunities. Graduate students have no minimum earned credit requirement when registering for an academic internship. In order to register your internship, you will need to complete an Academic Learning Contract through Purchase Jobscore. Please remember to speak with your faculty advisor first to discuss how an internship fits into your program.
