Career Counseling
Career Counselors work with students to help them identify and investigate career options and develop job search goals and strategies.
Our counselors and students work together to assist students with determining their interests, skills and job-related values, and set career goals. Career Counselors help students learn about themselves in relation to career interests. Your Career Counselor may suggest you take what’s called an “Interest Survey” to begin to identify career fields that you might find satisfying. Knowing yourself is the first step necessary in finding a satisfying career.
They also can help students prepare targeted resumes and cover letters, help prepare for interviews and develop a job or internship search strategy. Career counselor’s can also assist students with graduate school preparation. Students are encouraged to begin utilizing the career center services as early as their freshman year.
Consider connecting with one of our career development professionals at any time in your career planning process. Whether you are undecided or have a plan in mind, the Career Development Center can help each step of the way.
Drop-In Counseling
Students may meet with a counselor for a brief, ten-minute consultation if they do not need a full career counseling session. Resumes and cover letters can be critiqued; job search and interview questions can be briefly answered.
We are currently offering both virtual and in person drop-in hours.
