What am I searching? 

Discovery Search finds books, articles, journals, films, plays, scores, music recordings, and more from the Purchase College Library catalog, online databases, SUNY Catalog, and Worldcat… all at once!  Here’s what the different search scopes do:

Almost Everything = Articles + Books & Media

Search for articles from hundreds of online databases PLUS books and media in the Purchase College Library’s physical collections. Includes journals, ebooks, and steaming films from Academic Video Online.

The following are not included under “Almost Everything”:

  • streaming films from SWANK and kanopy. Instead, go to the streaming video guide and search directly within each database.
  • ebooks from ACLS Humanities and Credo Reference. Open access and subscription ebooks from ProQuest, Ebsco, Gale, Project Muse and most other ebook databases are searchable in Discovery, but it does not include all of our ebooks. Supplement your search by checking within individual ebook databases.
  • books and physical materials from other libraries. Instead, select “SUNY Catalog” or “Worldcat”  to search for physical items that can be requested from other libraries via interlibrary loan. 

Books & Media @ Purchase

Articles

Course Reserves

Look up textbooks and other physical materials held on course reserve for classes at the Library Circulation Desk.

Search for books and library materials from hundreds of libraries worldwide and place requests via interlibrary loan, directly from the Discovery Search!
