The Office of Student Health Services provides primary care, diagnosis, treatment, and education for matriculated students in the fall and spring semesters. The staff members determine which conditions can be treated and which need referral to an off-campus facility. They also support wellness programs and participate in health workshops and other activities that support physical wellness for the campus community.
Student Health Services uses an “open access” model for scheduling appointments—every attempt is made to give an appointment on the same day that a student calls. Student Health Services is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 pm. Student appointment times are 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday–Tuesday and Thursday–Friday, and 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday. Students are encouraged to call early in the morning (after 8:30 a.m. and preferably before 11 a.m.) to arrange for a same-day appointment. A student will be given the first available appointment that is mutually acceptable to the student and the Student Health Services staff. There will be some slots available for students to make appointments for another day ahead of time.
Both virtual and in-person appointments are available according to the nature of the visit and student/provider preference
In the case of a medical emergency or severe illness, students should call or come to Student Health Services. Appointments are prioritized according to the patient’s condition. If the office is closed and emergency care is needed, call 914-251-6911 (UPD emergency hotline) for immediate assistance.
Appointments for travel medicine are scheduled via an online student submission of pertinent information regarding the travel. Please refer to the Office of Student Health Services, and select “Available Services” and then “Travel Medicine Tips and Forms…” The Student Health Services staff will respond to these requests.
