For alumni listings, the year (and degree, if included) may be listed with or without parentheses, but consistency should be maintained within the document: 

  • Undergraduate degree: Jane Doe ’91; John Doe, Class of ’91
  • Graduate degree: Jane Doe MFA ’91
  • More than one Purchase degree, earned in different years: Jane Doe ’91, MFA ’94; John Doe BA ’91, MusB ’93, MM ’95
  • Purchase graduate with a degree from another institution: Jane Doe ’91, MD
  • When referring to a former student who attended but did not earn a degree at Purchase College, use the dates of attendance: Jane Doe ’89–’91
  • Capitalize class when referring to a specific class: John Doe, Class of ’91
