In the event of an emergency on campus, the College’s NYS University Police Department are our first responders. NYSUP will also notify additional agencies as appropriate to the situation, and the College’s Emergency Response Team.
Purchase college uses a variety of Mass-Notification systems to alert the campus community to an emergency - including loudspeakers and electronic systems that will send text, voice and email to the campus community in the event of an emergency.
To sign up for emergency alerts, please visit the “Current Students” or the “Faculty and Staff” link (see page footer) and follow the links to MyHeliotrope, then “Update your Emergency Contact Information.” Emergency contact information is updated to the Mass-Alert Notification system nightly.
