EOP Admissions

You can succeed in college. EOP can help.

{alt}

For more than 50 years, the State University of New York’s Arthur O. Eve Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) has helped promising students overcome financial and academic barriers to attend a SUNY college, earn a degree, and achieve their life goals.

For students who show promise and potential for academic success, but who fall short of the general admission academic requirements, EOP provides the resources and support to enroll and succeed.

Open to New York residents only.

First-Year applicants must be eligible both academically and financially. For transfer students, see requirements below.

1. EOP Academic Eligibility

First-Year Applicants

Check Your GPA

EOP candidates’ high school averages fall between 76–84, below the college’s traditional criteria for admission.

Test Scores With GPA

EOP follows the college’s Test-Optional policy, and thus, SAT/ACT score submission is not required.

Test Scores Without GPA

Students applying from alternative high schools that do not calculate student GPAs must submit SAT/ACT scores as a supplement to transcripts.

EOP Ranges for SAT: 930–1080 and ACT: 17–21.

Transfer Applicants

Purchase College does not offer fee waivers; however, those who may qualify for a SUNY or Common App fee waiver should review the eligibility requirements.

2. EOP Economic Eligibility

Check the table below for this year’s financial eligibility requirements for EOP admission.
