2024 Highlights The Art Of Auditioning

 

Grades 9–12

Learn basic tools, techniques, and strategies that you can put into practice and prepare you for any audition or interview.

Through voice/speech/movement/acting and audition exercises, you will develop your craft for auditions and beyond. Landing the role or getting the job is just the beginning!

Typical Day

The program begins each day with a group warm-up that encourages focusing, reflection, and sharing. 

Morning Session

In the morning students will receive instruction in a variety of topics including:

  • Movement
  • Mindfulness
  • Voice and Speech
  • Acting
  •  Improvisation
  • The creative process
  • Observation skills

Lunch

Lunch break will be with their Teaching Assistants, and is usually eaten outside to enjoy the beautiful Purchase College campus. 

Afternoon Session

In the afternoon students will acquire and enhance auditioning skills. This includes:

  • Gathering, learning and rehearsing of material, monologues, speeches, poetry, scenes etc.
  • Presenting the material in mock auditions
  • Feedback on the presentations

Final Day

On the final day family and friends are invited to an informal presentation of of the skills the students have acquired during the program, followed by a short Q&A.

Session III: ( 1 week) July 28 -  August 1, 2025

Monday – Friday, 9:30am – 3:30pm (5 sessions)

$750 for the first registration
$675 for the second registration in the family, Purchase College employees, and alumni, Broadview families, Pepsi employees and early registrations (paid in full by May 2, 2025)
