Program Learning Outcomes
By the time that they graduate, history majors are expected to demonstrate:
- a knowledge of the basic narrative of their field of concentration and have been introduced to a secondary field
- an understanding of diverse historical scholarship
- an ability to evaluate historical sources
- a conceptual grasp of and an ability to write about temporal change and the relationships between social changes and political and cultural development
- an ability to conceptualize and write about a complex topic independently (in preparation for the senior project)
