Are you currently a Purchase College student and want to apply for the Creative Writing Program?

 

These are the thing you will need:

  • Completed Creative Writing Application
  • Portfolio of writing ( 5-7 poems (10 pages maximum) or Fiction 2-3 short stories (15 pages maximum w/preference for complete stories). 
  • One-Two (1-2) letter(s) of recommendation from an instructor familiar with your writing.
  • A one page discussion of your reasons for wanting to enter the program and an assessment of your strengths and weaknesses in writing.

All materials, including your recommendation letter(s), may be emailed to the Program Chair. Please include all of your application materials in one PDF file except for your letter(s) of recommendation, which may be directly emailed to the Program Chair by your recommender. 

Deadlines:

Fall Admission: April 1

Spring Admission: November 1
