The James Moody Scholarship at Purchase College

NEA Jazz Master James Moody and his wife, Linda, established the James Moody Scholarship Endowed Fund in 2005. They had long dreamed of helping young Jazz musicians in fulfilling their career development through a college education, and chose Purchase College as the recipient of the scholarship.

Each year, the Moodys host an annual concert, often in conjunction with Mr. Moody’s birthday, to raise funds for the Moody Scholarship Endowment. This year's event will be held on March 30, 2009 at BB King's Blues Club & Grill in New York City. For full information on the event, click here.

To become a James Moody Scholar at Purchase College, a student must excel in scholastic achievement, community leadership and musical aptitude.
