The James Moody Scholarship at Purchase College

NEA Jazz Master James Moody and his wife, Linda, established the James Moody Scholarship Endowed Fund in 2005. They had long dreamed of helping young Jazz musicians in fulfilling their career development through a college education.

Each year, the Moodys host an annual concert, often in conjunction with Mr. Moody’s birthday, to raise funds for the Moody Scholarship Endowment.This year's event was held on March 26, 2007 at B.B. King's Blues Club & Grill in New York City.

To become a James Moody Scholar at Purchase College, a student must excel in scholastic achievement, community leadership and—of course—musical aptitude.

You can contribute to the Moody Scholarship Fund at Purchase College. Make your check payable to “PCF: James Moody Scholarship Fund” and mail it to: Margaret Sullivan/ Vice President for External Affairs & Development/ Purchase College Foundation/ 735 Anderson Hill Road/ Purchase, NY 10577-1400.

The Purchase College Foundation is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization that supports education and the arts at Purchase College.
