The Purchase College campus could be described as the “opposite of ivy;” the modernist movement at full flower. Frankly, our architecture is an acquired taste. Of course, it is what goes on inside our buildings and in the spaces between, that is important. Come experience it for yourself.

GENERAL INFORMATION SESSIONS

Conducted by an admissions representative, this 50 minute session is designed to provide prospective students and their families an overview of our academic programs, admissions requirements and application process. They are offered throughout the academic year on most Mondays & Wednesdays at 10:00 am, most Fridays at 10:00 am & 2:00 pm and select Saturdays at 10:00 am.

CAMPUS TOURS

Offered year round, this comprehensive tour includes classroom buildings, residence halls, dining facilities, the library and more! Tours depart from the Admissions Building at 11:00 am most Mondays & Wednesdays, 11:00 am & 3:00 pm most Fridays and 11:00 am select Saturdays.

OPEN HOUSES

Mark your calendars! We invite you to come learn about our programs, meet with faculty and staff and take a tour of campus on Monday, October 13 (Columbus Day).

Open House is filled to capacity. Please consider attending an Information Session and Tour.

*Attention Visual Artists! The School of Art+Design is hosting a National Portfolio Review Day at Purchase College on November 16, 2008. Have your portfolio reviewed, meet with faculty and staff and tour the campus.

SCHOOL OF THE ARTS TOURS

Available during the fall and spring semesters, this tour is for students interested in seeing the classrooms and buildings specifically for the conservatories of Dance, Music or Theatre Arts & Film, or professional training in our School of Art+Design. This tour does not include general buildings such as the dining hall or dormitories, to view these please register for an Information Session and Tour.

TRANSFER STUDENT / LIBERAL STUDIES WORKSHOP

Find out how you can complete your degree at Purchase College. Learn about the transfer admissions process, financial aid, and meet with advisors in a relaxed environment. We'll discuss the many options in the liberal arts & sciences, as well as the adult degree completion program in Liberal Studies for students who need evening and/or part time study.

Get Liberal Arts & Science major information. Students interested in majors in the arts, please see "School of the Arts Tours" or " Information Sessions" above.

TWILIGHT TOURS

Seize the opportunity to tour the scenic Purchase College campus during sunset. Twilight tours are given throughout the spring/summer. Tours start at 6:00p.m. and last approximately an hour followed by an optional 15 minute Q&A session with an admissions counselor. No individual appointments are available during these times.

Currently there are no twilight tours scheduled, please consider attending an Information Session and Tour.

IMMEDIATE DECISION DAY

Immediate Decision Day is an opportunity for qualified freshman Liberal Arts & Sciences applicants to participate in a quick, easy and personalized Admissions process. You will interview with admissions advisors, tour the campus, participate in activities with current Purchase students and receive your admissions decision all in one day.

On-campus Immediate Decision Days are scheduled for:

Saturday, November 22
Friday, December 12

Off-campus Immediate Decision Days will be held at the Center for Student Recruitment located in midtown Manhattan on the following days:

Tuesday, December 2, 2008 from 2:00 – 6:00 pm
Thursday, December 18, 2008 from 2:00 – 6:00 pm
Wednesday, February 11, 2009 from 2:00 – 6:00 pm

To participate in Immediate Decision Day, you must meet the minimum criteria below:
SAT=1100 (Critical Reading & Math)
GPA= 85% or 3.33

SCHOOL OF LIBERAL STUDIES EXTENSION SITE INFO SESSIONS

For adult and transfer students interested in working towards their Liberal Studies degree closer to home or work, Purchase College offers extension programs at Rockland Community College and Westchester Community College – Peekskill. More information is available through the School of Liberal Studies and Continuing Education.

GROUP VISITS

Designed for groups of 10 or more high school students representing an educational institution or a community agency interested in visiting Purchase College. The Group Visit program generally consists of a presentation by an Admissions Advisor and a guided tour of campus.

Admissions Notes

INTERVIEW POLICY
Purchase College does not offer evaluative interviews for admissions except for select programs in the Visual and Performing Arts. These interviews occur during the application process by invitation only.
However, if you are interested in speaking with an admissions counselor you can arrange an informative interview. These interviews must be made in advance on weekdays between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. by calling the Office of Admissions at 914-251-6300.
The lack of an interview will not have an adverse impact on your admissions decision.
