The Purchase Precollege Programs in the Arts are for passionate artists and high school students with an interest in pursuing the arts on a college level. Institutes in Creative Writing (new!), Filmmaking, Journalism, Musical Theatre, Photography, and Shakespeare, as well as the 18th Annual Visual Arts Institute are offered. These institutes provide portfolio building and audition training technique opportunities. Institute students may earn certification letters based on participation and attendance. Two additional new programs—the Songwriting Workshop and the Jazz Workshop—are also offered this summer.

• Each program meets 9:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m., Monday–Friday.
• Early drop-off and extended-day options are also available.
• Each program concludes with a student performance or exhibition for friends and family.
