Welcome Visiting Students!

Visiting students from other colleges and adults with a high school diploma or its equivalent are welcome to register at Purchase College. Proficiency in English is required, and students must meet any course prerequisites. There is no formal application and acceptance process.

Visiting students from other colleges are responsible for obtaining approval from their college to transfer Purchase College credits back to their college before registering for credit courses. They are also personally responsible for the college’s tuition, fees, and other applicable charges and are bound by all college policies. For financial aid, please contact the financial aid office at your home institution.

To register as a visiting student:

  1. Use the online course search to find your desired course(s). Refer to the course search instructions in the myHeliotrope Student User Guide for tips on finding courses.

  2. If you are returning as a visiting student to Purchase College, proceed to step 6 below.

  3. If you are a new visiting student at Purchase College, complete the online Student Data Form and submit it. Refer to the Student Data Form instructions for assistance.

  4. After completing the online Student Data Form, proceed with instructions to activate your Purchase user name and password. To successfully create your password, be sure to follow all rules (i.e., number, capital letter, symbol).

  5. If at any point you do not recall your Purchase user name and password, please reset your password at my.purchase.edu.

  6. Go to my.purchase.edu and click on MyHeliotrope, located in the top left corner on the page. Enter your Purchase user name and password, click on the “Student” box and go to “Registration,” then to “Add or Drop Classes.” Refer to the non-degree student registration instructions in the myHeliotrope Student User Guide as needed.

Note: Please be sure to review the college policy on satisfactory academic progress; unsatisfactory progress may affect future registration at Purchase College.
